Odette Ruffalo’s Childhood
Odette Ruffalo was born on October 20, 2007.
She is of Italian (from Girifalco) and French-Canadian ancestry on her father’s side.
Marie Rose (née Hébert), her paternal grandmother, was a hairdresser and stylist, and her grandfather, Frank Lawrence Ruffalo Jr., was a construction painter.

Odette Ruffalo’s Father Had Survived Several Tragedies
Odette’s father, Ruffalo, has had a difficult childhood. He struggled throughout his school years.
The actor previously stated that he had undiagnosed dyslexia and ADHD, which made him “miserable” in school.
Odette’s paternal grandparents declared bankruptcy when her father was 13 years old.
After her grandfather, Frank’s, painting business failed, the family relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia, and began a new venture.
It didn’t work, so the family relocated to San Diego’s “seedy beach community full of burnouts and meth.”
Odette’s father suffered from depression later in life. The actor of Italian descent revealed it was Dysthymia, a chronic, low-grade depression.
Mark claimed that in his early twenties, he auditioned for over 600 roles without receiving a response.
Her Father’s Friend’s Death and Illness
He lost a close friend to suicide in 1994.
Furthermore, the actor’s career was briefly halted in 2001 after a CAT scan revealed he had an acoustic neuroma, a type of brain cancer.
Doctors were able to remove Odette’s father’s tumor just weeks after the birth of his eldest son, Keen.
Despite the successful surgery, Ruffalo lost hearing in his left ear and half of his face became paralyzed.
As a result of his paralysis, he lost several Hollywood roles. The Endgame actor even stopped communicating with the outside world.
Fortunately, after a year away from the spotlight, his facial paralysis subsided. He is now deaf in his left ear.
The Death of Odette Ruffalo’s Uncle Remains Unsolved
Another tragedy befell The Hulk in 2008. In December of that year, police discovered his brother, Scott, died at home from a gunshot wound to the head.
Scott, Odette’s uncle, died the following week in the hospital.
The authorities have yet to solve the case. Ruffalo spoke to Men’s Journal in 2013 about his brother and said
“You never get over it; you just get used to it.”
Ruffalo says he did the film The Kids Are All Right because the role reminded him of his brother’s personality.
