Yeoh is one of the most well-known actors in Hollywood, but her personal life is almost as fascinating as her professional one.

She has been in the business since the 1980s and is one of the highest-paid Asian actresses. She has been in a number of hit films, including Crouching Dragon, Hidden Tiger, Crazy Rich Asians, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Everything, Everything.

Yeoh took a break from performing in the late 1980s to marry Hong Kong executive Dickson Poon. The couple married in 1988 and divorced in 1991.

Everything we know about Yeoh and her family life is detailed below.

Michelle Yeoh and her first husband, Dickson Poon Yeoh, met on the set of Yes,

Madam for the first time. In the action film, Yeoh played Inspector Ng, and Poon was the film’s producer.

After their first meeting, they continued to spend time together and got closer.

The couple eventually married.

Yeoh was 28 at the time, and despite her youth, she thought it was time to settle down.

“At 28 years old, I felt maybe it was time to settle down, get married, and begin a new life,”

she told Bustle in March 2022. Yeon took a vacation from her profession after marrying her spouse.

The actress stated that her decision to stop performing was a “conscious decision.”

She said that it was not her husband’s or his family’s fault that she was asked to take a sabbatical.

Michelle Yeoh chose to quit instead since she is “not a good multitasker.”

Yeoh believed that if she had children, she couldn’t work, and vice versa.

She expressed her admiration for those actors who were able to balance acting and motherhood.

“It blew my mind,” she remarked. I was afraid that if I kept performing,

I’d be continuously away from home. I couldn’t figure out how I could work full-time and be married.”

As a result, she stepped back and decided to start a family.

Her “new career move” was having children with her boyfriend, she explained.

Regrettably, things did not proceed as planned. Yeon couldn’t have children,

so she didn’t want to have a strained relationship with her husband.

She stated that having children with your partner is expected in

Asian cultures to extend family and legacy. Unfortunately, Yeon was unable to obtain any.

“And when you come to the reality [that you can’t have children], you have to cope with it,” she explained. You cope with the curveballs that come your way.”

Yeoh, Michelle Yeon’s current spouse, married American physician Alan Heldman in 1998.

In 2004, she began dating her current partner, Jean Todt.

The couple began dating in 2004 after meeting in Shangai and have been together since.

In July 2008, she confirmed her engagement to him during an

appearance with Craig Ferguson on CBS’s The Late Late Show.

Despite their 16-year age difference, the couple seemed to be content together.

Yeon, like her former husband, has no children with Todt.

She is, however, the stepmother to Nicholas, Todt’s son from a previous relationship.

Todt and Yeoh have been married for over ten years.

They have yet to tie the knot, however.

There are several reports that the couple is already married, but nothing is confirmed until Yeoh and Todt confirm it.
