Meet Judd Trump, the world’s number-one snooker player

Judd Trump is an English snooker player, a former World Snooker Champion, and the top-ranked snooker player as of October 2021. Many snooker aficionados consider him to be one of the greatest players in history.

Trump has won numerous awards and ranking tournaments over his career.

He has even defeated his childhood idol, Ronnie O’Sullivan, four times, once in the European Masters and three times in the Northern Ireland Open.

He is well-known for his fast-paced games, bright and humorous nature, and always-new haircuts.

In addition, he is the youngest player to ever qualify for the final stage of a ranking event.

Early Years of Judd Trump

When he was eight years old, the Ace was already defeating older opponents.

Judd was a fantastic young talent, according to everyone who knew him.

When Judd was three years old, his father gave him his first snooker set.

Judd won his first competition three years later.

Three years later, at the age of nine, his father introduced him to the neighborhood pool hall, where he played against considerably older opponents.

He had a natural knack for snooker, but playing against a much older opponent influenced his board view.

Even if a child has innate talents, he does not have much logical thinking capacity, so the pool hall served as a stepping stone.

A year later, at the age of 10, he won the England U-15 title, defeating 14 and 15-year-old opponents.

At the age of 13, Judd upset former world number eight Mike Hallett (4-2) in the final match of the Pontin’s Open in Prestatyn.

At the age of 14, Judd became the youngest player ever to make a 147 break during a competitive match in Leicester.

Ronnie O’Sullivan, his hero, and motivation held the record.

He also advanced to the World Under-21 Semifinals. For a 14-year-old, this is quite outstanding.

Two years later, at the age of 16, he became the youngest player to reach the finals of a ranking title.

He qualified for the 2006 Welsh Open, where he was defeated by defending champion Shaun Murphy.

Judd Trump’s Personal Life

Judd has dated a lot of girls in his life, but he hasn’t found one.

For a reason, he used to refer to himself as a part-time playboy.

Khadijah Misr, an Instagram model, is his most recent girlfriend.

Little is known about her, but based on her appearance, she is in her early 30s.

We can’t say for definite if they’re still dating, but Judd hasn’t been seen with another lady, so there’s a chance.

Judd Trump’s Professional Life

Beginnings of a Career

In the early days of his career and notoriety, he was showy; he liked to have the latest popular hairdo and even billed himself as a “part-time snooker player, full-time international playboy” on Twitter.

Furthermore, he was an obsessive Gucci shopper; he wasn’t a huge spender; he didn’t gamble or spend money on luxury products, but Gucci was one of his weaknesses that he couldn’t resist.

Judd added that because of his world ranking and newly created popularity, he will get more female attention when he goes out.

“I can’t drink too much or make a fool of myself… I have to be mindful of what’s going on,” he continued.

Following his career, he relocated to Romford at the age of 19.

During the process, he also ended his relationship with his then-girlfriend.

Professional Development

The Ace debuted on the professional tour in 2005 and has been with it ever since.

He doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

Judd reached the final event of the 2006 Welsh Open, making him the youngest player to accomplish it.

He also finished in the top 48 of the China Open that year.

He defeated James Wattana in the final round of qualification at the 2007 World Championship, making him the third-youngest individual to enter the tournament’s main stage.

He was also one of just five players to reach the Crucible at the age of 17.

Moving on to the 2007/08 season, Judd was unable to replicate his incredible performance.

That season, he only finished in the top 32 of the Welsh Open.

Furthermore, despite winning the last qualifying match against Joe Swail 9-5, he did not qualify for the 2008 World Championship.

Swail did not allow Judd to win another frame, and the final score was 9-10 in favor of Joe.

Judd Trump’s first-ranking position

Judd reached his first professional ranking tournament final in 2011 by defeating former world champions Shaun Murphy and Peter Ebdon at the China Open.

In the finals, Judd was poised to face Mark Selby.

Judd played well against an older opponent, making his 100th-century break and winning the game (10-8).

After six years of professional play, this was his first ranking title.

He won $82.5k and moved up in the world snooker rankings, getting to number 16 in the world.

It didn’t take long for him to win his second-ranking event tournament after winning his first-ranking title.

Trump defeated Mark Allen in the UK Championship on December 11, 2011.

He beat Dominic Dale in the round of 32 to meet Mark in the finals.

The Juggernaut won the game 10-8 in the end.

Net Worth of Judd Trump

Snooker events have netted Judd a total of $7,571,573.

Having said that, according to our analysts, he presently has a net worth of more than $10 million.

Other sources of money for him included advertisements, endorsements, and merchandising.

Though he spends a lot of money on luxury automobiles and designer gear, he has also saved a significant portion of his salary and may have invested some for the future.

The support of Judd Trump’s family in his World Championship victory

In the 2019 World Snooker Championship, Judd Trump destroyed John Higgins, taking the lead with double the points of his opponent (18-9).

During the 35-frame encounter, he dominated the play and made seven-century breaks.

Judd is still a young man, but don’t be fooled by his appearance; despite his age, he has years of hard work behind him, as well as the support of his family.

Judd claimed in the post-match interview after winning the 2019 World Championship title that his father is the world’s biggest snooker fan, watching every game.

“So just doing it for him and my parents, for the sacrifices they made for me to be able to play every week, going across the nation, working two jobs,” he continued.

Judd’s father would work as hard as he could, scarcely having any free time, to support his son’s blossoming snooker career.

He used to be a truck driver, but he also drove Judd throughout the country for tournaments.

On his brother, Judd Trump

Judd’s brother Jack, who acts as the brain behind Judd’s decisions, is also rightfully attributed with Judd’s World Championship title.

Jack consults, assists, and travels with Judd on his global tours.

“Jack will start the balls in motion, and I will not intervene; I will let him get on with it.”

“He’s pushing my to work on things I wouldn’t have done on my own,” Judd explained.

He also claimed that Jack pushes him in difficult situations during training sessions since he wants to pot basic balls all day.

This had prepared him for the upcoming World Championship tournament.

Four months after winning the World Championship, he went on to win the Master title.

Judd said once more that this feat was only possible due to Jack’s intelligent and practical teaching.

Judd recently agreed to speak with Eurosports in October 2021.

He admitted that it had been a lonely 18 months without his brother Jack on the snooker circuit.

When his brother returned, he remarked,

“It’s just great to have my brother back on tour.”

Even if I’ve won tournaments over the last 18 months, it’s just not the same.”

Judd and Lisowski are unable to compete in the 2021 Masters

This was the second time Judd and Lisowski’s names were grouped together, but this time it wasn’t good news.

Judd and Jack Lisowski tested positive for COVID-19 in January 2021 and were barred from participation in the 2021 Master beginning that month.

On January 8th, both players were tested for COVID-19 as part of the tournament’s stringent protocol.

Judd Trump was scheduled to meet David Gilbert at Milton Keynes, but he was replaced by Joe Perry due to the COVID-19 contraction.

Similarly, someone else took Jack’s post.

According to World Snooker Tour officials, Judd and Jack will undertake a few weeks of self-isolation during which they will have the full support of the WST (World Snooker Tour) and WPBSA (World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association).

Al-Shammari tied the game at 4-3 but missed the 9th ball in the 8th table.

This provided Judd with all of the opportunities he required to win the game.

Judd won the game by a score of 5-3.

Trump faced the 2017 US Open Pool champion, Jayson Shaw, in the next round.

Jayson thoroughly destroyed Judd, winning the match 11-1.
