2012-2015

Furthermore, in the 2012 MLB draft, the Kansas City Royals selected Matt Strahm in the 21st round, 643rd overall.

Rather than transferring to Nebraska, Strahm signed with the Royals and received a $100,000 signing bonus.

Matt made his professional debut with the Royals’ minor league affiliate team, the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Pioneer League, during the 2013 season.

Strahm underwent ulnar ligament collateral ligament reconstruction, also known as Tommy John surgery, in the middle of the 2013 season to treat damage to the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.
