Matt Barnes is a retired professional basketball player. Matt Barnes was taken in the second round of the NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002. He won an NBA title with the Golden State Warriors in his final season in the league.

Basketball Professional Career

Barnes was selected 46th overall in the 2002 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Matt, along with Nick Anderson, was quickly transferred to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Wesley Person.

He joined the Fayetteville Patriots for the 2002–03 season after being sent to the NBA D-League by the Cavaliers.

Matt played with Dennis Rodman for the first season of the ABA’s Long Beach Jam in 2003. With a 24–7 record, the team won the ABA Championship.
