Professional Life
Mario has been involved in athletics since he was a child, as he explained. He used to look up to Michael Jordan back then.
West rose through the ranks of the varsity team during his first year. Coach Joby Boydston, like his father, was his biggest supporter while also assisting him in honing his skills.
Mario received honorable mention all-state accolades before graduating from high school.
Mario enrolled as a non-scholarship player on his collegiate Yellow Jacket Basketball Team after hustling on his high school team. He became a scholarship player a year later.
Mario had risen to the position of Team Captain by his senior year.
Arena for Professionals
West debuted in the NBA in 2007 after being drafted. That year, though, he was not drafted.
After that, as a free agent, he joined the Atlanta Hawks training camp. Mario has joined the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League by the 2009-10 season.
He signed with the New Jersey Nets later that year, and three months later, in June, he joined the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto’s Cocolos de San Pedro de Macors.
He joined Tezenis Verona the next year before relocating to the Philippines. Mario was a member of the Meralco Bolts throughout his stint in the Philippines.
West signed a contract with the Mexican team Fuerza Regia in 2013. Later, he returned to Argentina to play with the Juventud Sionista in the 2015–16 season.
