Marilyn represented Ontario in the 1980 Tournament of Hearts and the Canadian Ladies Curling Championship.

She competed in and won the “Tournament of Hearts” once more in 1986 this time as a skip.

She won the World Curling Championship that year, helping her team to victory over Germany’s Andrea Schopp.

When she won the title of world curling champion, she was 36 years old.

Marilyn returned to the “Tournaments of Hearts” in 1987, but this time they were unable to gain the same momentum.

Leaving out a couple of years, Marilyn entered the Hearts competition once more at the age of 41 and won by defeating Canadian Cheryl Kullman.
