Everyone thought he would be a professional basketball player and a good one up to this point in his career, when he was taken by the Brooklyn Nets with the 55th overall choice in the 2016 NBA draft on June 23rd.

The next day (August 22, 2016), he was traded to the Utah Jazz, but on October 13, he was rescinded.

Fortunately, he was signed by the NBA Development League’s Salt Lake City Stars.

During the 2016-17 NBA Development League season, he appeared in 46 games for the Salt Lake City Stars and 40 for the Sacramento Kings.

In 32.7 minutes per game, he averaged 12.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He also played in the 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Marcus signed a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets on August 1st, 2017.

After being a free agent, he signed a two-year contract with the Serbian club Partizan Belgrade of the ABA League on July 11, 2018.

Paige later obtained a Serbian passport and citizenship on February 12, 2019, and signed a two-year contract on May 9, 2020.

On September 16, 2021, Paige joined Orléans Loiret Basket of the LNB Pro A, a French club.
