Toussant afterward became a stay-at-home mother.

She advises against having a baby if one wishes to work in this industry.

Struggles of Marcel Young’s Mother, Michel’le Toussant

Toussaint grew up in a family that lived paycheck to paycheck, forcing her to leave South Central Los Angeles.

She used to go to school 30 miles away, in the relatively prosperous community of Woodland Hills.

The integration of the Los Angeles Unified School District had far-reaching consequences in his mother’s life.

Toussant, now 50, is well known for her self-titled double-platinum album from 1989.

Young’s mother recorded “Turn Off the Lights” for World Class Wreckin’ Cru, Dr. Dre’s R&B group with DJ Yella, when she was 16 years old in 1986.

Toussaint used to take three buses to work every day.

She was intelligent, but she had little understanding of the inner workings of the music industry, and she never received a penny from the song’s royalties.

Dre’s ex-wife admitted to wearing the same jeans three times a week.

Her mother had too many children, making it difficult for her to provide.

For Six Years, Marcel’s Young’s Parents Were Married.

In the late 1980s, Dre and Toussant met at Ruthless Records.

Toussaint and Dre began dating months after “Turn Off the Lights” (1987).

The former, on the other hand, never considered herself as much more than Dre’s lover until Eazy-E approached her about signing with Ruthless Records.

Her debut album, which includes the track “No More Lies,” was produced by Dre.

With Dr. Dre as the godfather of the American hip-hop industry, Toussant’s existence felt like something out of a dream.

Young’s father once surprised her with a house he’d purchased for them both in Calabasas, California.

In addition to the physical abuse, Dre was a habitual cheater.

They had been in a love relationship for six years.

The 2016 American biographical TV drama film Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge, & Michel’le’ explored Young’s parents’ relationship, Dr. Dre, and Michel’le.

Marcel’s father was quite abusive to his mother.

In 1991, Young’s father raped her in a Los Angeles nightclub.

According to Gawker’s journalist, Toussaint believed Dre was planning to murder her at the time.

Young’s parents resolved a civil claim outside of court after the rapper pleaded no contest to the allegation.

Toussaint told Vlad TV that she was relieved she wasn’t in the film.

Young’s mother said that she was always simply a silent girlfriend who was beaten and instructed to sit down and shut up.

Sadly, it wasn’t until Toussaint’s departure from South Central that she learned domestic abuse wasn’t typical and that she’d done nothing to deserve it.

She also never reported Dre to the police. Marcel’s mother explained that she was quiet since she didn’t know any better and mistook it for love.

Toussaint revealed to New York radio station Power 105 that Dre repeatedly punched her with a clenched fist and gave her black eyes on at least five occasions.

He allegedly fractured her nose and cracked her rib.

Furthermore, Toussaint said that Dre, like many other males who commit intimate partner abuse, alienated her from her acquaintances, particularly guys.

Marcel’s mother was also shot by Dre.

Michel’le also discussed the time Dr. Dre fired a shot at her during an interview with VLAD TV.

She remembered they had just partied, then argued, he went to get the gun, and she had just made it through the bathroom door.

Toussant claimed Marcel’s father fired a gun at her, missing her by a few inches.

Michel’le then left the bullet in the hole.

She told how it went through the door and then through the side of the wall in the bathroom, where she kept it for a bit so he could see it.

Toussant stated that following the incident, he never attempted to shoot her again.

However, the beatings would continue.

Michel’le’s second husband, Marcel Young’s mother, was also abusive.

While Marcel’s mother was able to break free from Dre, physical abuse was certain to return, only this time the perpetrator was not the Grammy-winning performer.

Suge Knight, the founder of Death Row Records, allegedly only hit Toussant once.

After that, he promised not to hit her again because “she was too small.”

The couple was together for eight years, with Suge staying in jail for six of them.

Currently, the record producer is back in jail on a 2015 attempted murder charge.

What Is Marcel Young Doing Now?

Marcel as apparent is pretty elusive and neither is he chasing any spotlight.

Besides featuring in Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le, Young has not made any presence in the media.

To make the matter more mysterious, he’s not that prevailing over social media as well.
