Who is Lawrence Lessig?
Lawrence Lessig is a well-known American academic, attorney, and political activist. Lawrence Lessig is currently the Roy L. Furman Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. In collaboration with The Young Turks Network, he also hosts the podcast Another Way. Lawrence is the former director of Harvard University’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics.
Early Life and Childhood

A few minutes of his free culture keynote speech at the O’Reilly Open Source Convention 2002 were about software patents, which he sees as a growing threat to free software, open-source software, and innovation.
Lawrence joined the Digital Universe project’s advisory board in March 2006. Lawrence gave a talk on the ethics of the Free Culture Movement at the 2006 Wikimania conference after a few months.

Remix book details a hypothesis about the societal effect of the Internet, and how this will affect the production as well as consumption of popular culture to a “remix culture”.
In collaboration with The Young Turks Network, he also hosts the podcast Another Way. His podcast Another Way is a weekly podcast that focuses on how we can reform and improve our democracy.
Lawrence was a Berkman Professor of Law at Harvard Law School from 1997 to 2000, where he was affiliated with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society.
Lawrence later joined Stanford Law School, where he founded the Center for Internet and Society.
