The Lakers defeated the Raptors, while the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Pelicans.

The Toronto Raptors played the Los Angeles Lakers at Amalie Arena on Tuesday. To begin, the Lakers started strong and finished with a much-needed 110-101 victory over the Raptors. Indeed, the victory snaps the Laker’s 11-game losing record against the Toronto Raptors dating back to 2014.

The Lakers got off to a fast start, going 6-for-9 from the field, with three of those baskets coming from beyond the arc.

Finally, the squad converted 45% of its triples, while the Raptors converted only 15% of theirs.

Laker’s quick start continued, as they finished the first quarter with a 12-point lead.

However, the first quarter ended in chaos as one player from each team was dismissed.

OG Anunoby of the Raptors and Montrezl Harrell of the Lakers were both ejected in the first quarter.

Anunoby received a scoring chance after catching a lead pass with roughly two and a half minutes left in the first quarter.

Dennis Schroder, the Lakers point guard, attempted to prevent Anunoby from getting an easy two baskets.

So he fouled Anunboy hard, resulting in an unpleasant tangle between the two. In reaction, Anunoby threw Schroder to the ground.

As a result, Harrell defended his teammate, Schroder, inciting turmoil between the two squads.

The referees assessed the post-play behavior because there was some jawing, pushing, and shoving.

As a result, Anunboy and Harrell were removed before the first quarter concluded.

Anunoby had two points and three assists in 10 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, Harrell’s night was only getting started, with only two-plus minutes played and no points.

Both teams are short-handed:

The Los Angeles Lakers played without LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Andre Drummond.

While Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet were out, Rodney Hood, Patrick McCaw, Paul Watson, and Jalen Harris played.

Following the ejection in the fourth quarter, the Lakers and Raptors each lost one additional player.

The Lakers lost Harrell and the Raptors lost Anunboy, but losing Anunboy was particularly painful for the Raptors.

Six players had already been lost to injuries or health and safety measures for Toronto.

So, Anunoby’s expulsion left the Raptors with just eight eligible bodies for the remainder of the game.

As a result, the Lakers overpowered the Raptors all game.

Even though the Raptors returned late and performed well, we’re now way too far behind to mount a comeback.

The Lakers had a good start and made a barrage of three-pointers, giving them a 34-point advantage at one point.

With a flurry of three-pointers, the Lakers made nine in the first quarter, a season-high for the Lakers in a quarter.

The Lakers won thanks to a terrific start, incredible offense, impressive defense, and a barrage of three-pointers.

Talen Horton-Tucker led his squad in scoring with 17 points and 6 assists.

Meanwhile, Marc Gasol led the way for the Lakers with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 defensive blocks.

Devontae Cacok, a rookie, added 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 block.

Seven Lakers players scored in double figures. Markieff Morris was one of seven Lakers in double digits, finishing with 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Pascal Siakam led the Raptors in scoring with 27 points, setting a game-high.

He also had seven rebounds and two assists. Chris Boucher also scored 19 points, including 8 points and an assist.

The Lakers improved to 32-19 with the victory, while the Raptors fell to 20-31.

The Lakers will now face the Miami Heat on Friday, while the Raptors will face the Chicago Bulls.
