Kevin Love, a senior All-Star for the Cleveland Cavaliers, saw his role reduced this season, but that doesn’t mean the intensity of his workout was diminished.
In fact, even before he became the Cavs’ backup big man, Love had been putting in the most work over the offseason.

A challenge excites Love
Love only started four of the Cavaliers’ 74 games last season.
He also had a career-low in minutes per game with 22.5. However, the amount of work he did remain constant.
The 33-year-old has begun to face fewer problems in the league, but he does not limit himself to basketball.
And if the NBA no longer provides difficult challenges, Love would have no trouble finding them on his own.
So far, he’s spotted one by biking up Sundance Mountain Resort, a slope at Mount Timpanogos in Utah with an elevation of over 8,250 feet.
“I summited Sundance in Utah on a bike, something a lot of the US National Ski Team does for cross-training,” Love told Insider. “I did it for numerous off-seasons, and it’s a great way to push yourself.”
At the same time, it’s low-impact aerobics, so I’m not putting any strain on my joints or knees.”
Biking in that region of the world is not for the faint of heart, and the right type of bicycle is required to complete the task.
According to the insider, the mountain’s bike path where Love cycles “extends for 25 miles, and the trail’s height is so high that the air contains only 15% effective oxygen, compared to 20% at sea level,” making breathing harder and tiredness sooner.
So it’s safe to say that Love left nothing on the table.
The challenge is real
Though riding appears to be less competitive than basketball, NBA stars find it quite difficult. Reggie Miller, like Love, is a fan.
And, like Love, “Uncle Reg” feels the desire to push himself to the limit when he’s riding his bike through the steep mountains.
“It brings back those juices, you know, your name being called in the starting lineup and you’re competing.” “It’s a different discipline, but those juices are still there,” Miller noted.

Love, on the other hand, appears to be intent on pushing himself to the top of the country’s tallest mountains.
