Career
Oubre first took up a basketball when he was a young child.
He played for Three Milne Boys Home, now known as New Orleans Recreation Development Commission when he was in elementary school.
Kelly began playing basketball in his junior year at George Bush High School and continued playing in his senior year at Findlay Prep.
While still in high school, he was chosen for the Parade All-American First Team and the USA TODAY All-USA First Team.
Kelly played for the Kansas Jayhawks after being accepted at the University of Kansas. At Kansas, where he played 36 games, he was one of the team’s finest players all season.
The basketball star also assisted the Jayhawks in winning the Big 12 regular-season championship in 2014–15. In the 2015 NCAA Tournament, he also assisted in guiding the team to the third round.
