“What attracted me directly to Josie was, number one, her sexual fluidity,” she revealed in a November 2019 interview with Grumpy Magazine.
That depiction for young men and women was really appealing to me.”
“So much work had to go into her self-processing, and yet so little of it was communicated.
“I was happy to accept that challenge,” Bryant remarked.
“Josie began off this program as a 15-year-old kid who just didn’t know who she was, how to stand up for herself, or when to stand up for herself,” she remarked, explaining how her character discovered her uniqueness.
“In every episode, something extremely significant happens,” she continued, “so there is always something going on in Josie’s brain, and as an actor, I want to verify every single thought that she has.”
“With the luxury of leisure, I have plenty of opportunity to mature and learn how to have healthy dialogues with her father, sister, and various acquaintances.”
“It’s been extremely nice to see and feel a character develop,” Bryant said at the end of her statement.
