Professional Life

Despite the fact that she began a new path in 1998, she did not pursue gymnastics as a full-time activity until 2010.

Kat won the 2009 Aalsmeer Flower Cup after UK Sport sponsored her before becoming a full-time trampolinist.

She began her career in 2010, winning the British Championship twice and finishing in the top three on two occasions at the 2011 World Cup competitions.

Kat competed in the Trampoline World Championships in Birmingham, England, the same year.

Kat was dubbed “Great Britain’s secret world number one” by BBC Sport in her pre-championship introduction.

She finished ninth in the 2012 Olympics, however, because the National Olympic Committees could only send two athletes to the Games, China had four competitors in the top eight.

Kat was fortunate enough to secure seventh place in the berth Olympics.

Kat, on the other hand, had to prove herself by winning a series of contests. In 2015, she placed eighth in the individual finals at the World Championships in Denmark, securing her spot in the Rio 2016 Olympics once more.

Kat was the only British trampolinist to qualify for two Olympics in a row, which came as no surprise.

Olympics

Kat finished fourth in the 2012 Olympic Gymnastics qualifying event, which was held at the O2 Arena for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Similarly, Kat finished eighth in an individual event at the 2012 European Championships.

Despite this, she and Amanda Parker took silver in the synchronized competition.

However, she did not perform as planned in 2012, and she finished ninth. Kat did not qualify for the finals of the individual trampoline competition at the 2012 Olympics as a consequence.

Kat had never won an Olympic game in her career, despite her tireless efforts.

International Championship

Kat earned her first-ever bronze medal at the global championships in Birmingham, England, in 2011.

She also took home silver in the team event and bronze in the synchro trampoline.

Kat successfully defended her world championship title in 2013, and she also won gold in the synchro trampoline at the same tournament.

Kat’s best year was that year, as she won the gold medal in the team event alongside her squad in the same game.

Driscoll did not perform well in the solo event at the 2017 World Championships, but she did win a bronze medal with her team in team invent.

Kta and her squad were awarded a silver medal in 2019. Furthermore, this event took place in Tokyo, Japan.

European Championships

Kat was selected to represent her country in European games in 2015. That tournament drew about 5000 athletes from more than fifty countries.

Kat earned the silver medal, and while she did not win the gold in that event, she did capture the hearts of the spectators.

Championship of Europe

Kat competed in the World Championship games for Britain in 2012 and 2015, winning silver and gold medals, respectively.

Both of these games helped Kat achieve greater success, and everyone praised her performance.

Kat finished the season with a bronze medal at the European Championships in both 2016 and 2018.

World Championships

That might surprise you, but Kat had only played the world game once.

However, she not only won the hearts of the audience in that event, but she also won gold in the synchro event.

Retirement

Kat, on the other hand, abruptly announced her retirement in 2021.

Kat stated in her farewell speech that she has spent enough time in her life and that it is now time for her to retire.

Kat chose to work as Great Britain’s service officer for tumbling and double mini despite the fact that she finished her journey as a trampolinist.

Personal Life

Kat Driscoll is living a happy life with her husband, Gaby Short. Now, about Gaby, he is also a professional trampolinist and former coach Kat.

They first met at Washington Leisure Centre, where Kat trained, and Gary coached. After spending time with each other, this duo fell in love and married.

Their marriage was one particular event, and many students from their club joined them for their wedding.

This couple also does a lot of stuff together outside the sports world, such as both of them love bowling, attending birthdays, and going to a relative’s place.

Both Kat and Gaby are very close with the club kids, so the kids’ parents also ask them to look after their kids during the school holidays.

Besides, Gaby and Kat are focused on their career right now and do not have any plans to have a baby soon.

Likewise, 7000 people follow her on Twitter. However, all her Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are verified.
