Season 2 of the same series premiered on July 12, 2016, followed by Season 3 on August 8, 2017. On November 14, 2017, the streaming service announced the cancellation of Difficult People.

In October 2011, NBC picked up a pilot based on the Sue Margolis novel Apocalipstick, about a woman’s father who dates her high school nemesis.

Julie was to be a writer and executive producer on this pilot.

In March 2018, it was announced that the comedian would co-star in the NBC comedy pilot So Close, about two hopeless romantics who are unaware they live only blocks apart and could be soulmates.

None of the shows were picked up for a series.
