Josh enrolled at UCLA as an Economics major in January 2015 in order to participate in the football team’s spring practice. Due to Brett Hundley’s early departure for the NFL, the team is without a starting quarterback.

Rosen competed for the starting quarterback job as a true freshman during summer camp.

After being publically chastised by head coach Jim Mora, the Bruins announced Rosen as their starting quarterback at the end of August, making him UCLA’s first true freshman quarterback to start a season opener.

He was named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week for the 2017 season games.
