As the inquiry progressed, it finally led to the brothers, who shortly confessed to killing his parents, prompting his psychotherapist, Jerome Oziel Oziel, to inform his mistress, who later informed the police.
Lyle was arrested on March 8, 1990, and Erik handed himself in three days later. They were both charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced to life in jail without the possibility of release.
