Professional NBA Career- Early Start (2013-2015)

Since high school, Simmons has played basketball and had impressive records, which earned him several pre-draft workouts with various NBA Teams.

Sadly, even after having such opportunities, Simmons went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Luckily, in January 2013, Sugar Land Legends selected him in the first round of the inaugural American Basketball League (ABL) draft.

Following the event in September of that year, he tried out for the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League and made it to their training camp roster.

Likewise, he made it to their opening night roster, and in just 44 games, scored an average of points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.

When Simmons returned to Austin in 201-15, the team had changed its name to the Spurs.

Without much thought, Simmons jumped for the offer and made his debut with the Spurs on July 11, 2015, against the New York Knicks.
