The relationship between Isaac and his older brother, Jacob, was strong; there was no sibling rivalry in the home.

Isaac was motivated to continue playing basketball by the chivalry between the two, and the flame that started in Naples still burns today.

When his growth spurt and his newly discovered love for the game met, it was a match made in heaven.

After High School

Isaac spent his freshman and sophomore years at Barron Collier High School in Naples, Florida.

For his junior and senior years, he attended the International School of Broward in Hollywood, Florida.

However, Isaac wanted to be reclassified as a member of the 2016 high school class, thus he went to IMG Academy for what was considered a postgraduate year in 2016.

In 2016, Isaac was selected to take part in both the Nike Hoop Summit All-Star Games and the Jordan Brand Classic.

In the 2016 high school class, Isaac was a five-star recruit and was rated as the No. 4 small forward and No. 12 overall.

He earned the title of ACC Freshman of the Week for November 15–21, 2016.

His group made it to the NCAA Tournament, where they were the third-seeded Western team.

In his two NCAA Tournament games, Isaac managed just 25 points. After his freshman year, he was selected to the 2017 All-ACC First Team.

He was the second basketball player in Florida State history to leave as a one-and-done prospect, following Malik Beasley in 2016

A career in the Profession

On June 22, 2017, the Orlando Magic selected Isaac as the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

On December 28, he was diagnosed as being out with a sprained right ankle.

In his second season in the league, Isaac started 64 games for the Magic and recorded career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks per game.

He recorded a career-high 13 rebounds on January 31, 2019, in a 107-100 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

On February 12, he outscored the New Orleans Pelicans 118-88 to set a new career high.

Weltman said on March 15, 2022, that Isaac will miss the remainder of the 2021–2022 campaign due to injuries.

It has to do with a select group of NBA players standing during the playing of the national anthem in 2020 in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Isaac has strong ideas about his faith, as Shapiro noted in his statement, and he cited his faith in Jesus Christ as the basis for his decision not to kneel in support of the BLM movement.

Isaac’s story of discovering the strength to stand up for his beliefs in the face of intense peer pressure to conform is told in the book “Why I Stand” through a series of supernatural connections and unwavering faith.

In May 2022, Why I Stand will be offered in print, e-book, and audiobook formats.
