A Difficult Period in My MMA Career

Bedford fought for the first time in 2003. He only wanted to show his toughness to his audience at the time. So he simply declared himself a tough guy.

Furthermore, he fought in a barn for all of his amateur fights. Bedford finally took a one-and-a-half-year hiatus after deciding that fighting had no future.

Bedford was later contacted by the promoter who had watched him and offered him his first professional fight. For his first battle, he was offered $200.

Due to a lack of funds, Johnny had to fight on short notice.

Bedford made his professional debut against Chino Duran on September 23, 2006. He was submitted in the first round of the battle.

Bedford, on the other hand, won his first professional fight on October 20, 2006, when he defeated Roc Castorine by TKO. Bedford has a 13-8-1 record prior to his Bellator debut in 2009.

Bedford was invited to fight in Bellator in 2010. Bedford fought for the first time in Bellator on May 20, 2010. By TKO in the third round, he defeated Jared Lopez.

Bedford later faced Edwin Figueroa in King of Kombat 9: Resurrection on August 20, 2010. Unfortunately, the 39-year-old was stopped in the second round by TKO.

He fought WEC veteran Frank Gomez and defeated him by submission four months later.

Bedford agreed to compete in ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Team Bisping vs. Team Miller in Las Vegas in 2011.

Debut in the UFC
