However, because he lost his father when he was still a teenager, his family situation was problematic.

Young Joachim was forced to attend Schonau School as a result, and after he graduated, he focused mostly on football.

He was signed by SC Freiburg, then in the Second Bundesliga, at the age of 18, and he is still the team’s leading scorer to this day.

Career

Young Low began his career in the second division with SC Freiburg with the goal of establishing himself as a professional athlete and making an equal contribution to his nation.

The Freiburg player, however, transferred to VfB Stuttgart the following year, where he struggled to live up to the hype and struggled to make the first squad.

Joachim transitioned through a number of German clubs during his career, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Karlsruher SC, before eventually making two trips back to Freiburg.

As the club’s all-time leading scorer, the player-turned-manager seemed to have found success there alone.

The German would also transfer to Swiss clubs FC Schaffhausen and FC Winterthur after a brief time at Freiburg.

In addition to this, he made a total of four appearances for the German U-21 team.

Despite Low’s dubious playing history, he was unquestionably successful as a manager.

A well-known proverb states that “Lousy players create good managers, good players make bad managers.”

Manager | Career (Clubs & Country)

Most likely, the German coach made up for all of his professional flaws as a manager.

Joachim is a well-known coach despite not being well-known as a player.

Nevertheless, he was wounded by numerous controversies throughout his coaching tenure.

From 1995-1996, Low served as a player coach for FC Frauenfeld in Switzerland before being offered a position as an assistant coach at VfB Stuttgart.

Rolf Fringer, the head coach of Stuttgart, accepted the position of Switzerland’s coach, therefore Joachim took over as interim manager until being named the team’s permanent manager after a few matches.

Joachim was the club manager of a number of teams, including Fenerbahce, Karlsruher SC, Adanaspor, Tirol Innsbruck, and Austria Wien.

Rudi Voller resigned after Germany’s performance in one of the European competitions, and Jurgen Klinsmann, a former German legend, took over as manager with Joachim serving as his assistant.

Germany was successful in a number of competitions thanks to their joint teamwork, however, victory was still elusive.

Germany witnessed the emergence of numerous legends throughout their time, including Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Klinsmann was replaced as head coach by Low in 2006, and Low has remained well-known to this day.

Career Dispute

Despite having a successful managerial career, Low received harsh criticism.

Particularly at the 2018 World Cup, Germany suffered an embarrassing group-stage exit after losing to Mexico and South Korea in matches that should be forgotten.

The shocking omission of World Cup champions and seasoned players Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels, and Jerome Boateng from the Euro 2020 team in 2019 didn’t help Low’s cause either.

Euro 2016

Low has been exposed in public for engaging in a number of unpleasant activities.

Among them include sniffing bodily parts and picking off bogies. Low was photographed putting his hands on his pants during Euro 2016 and then sniffing them.

He performed such a spectacle before approaching Bastian Schweinsteiger in the middle of the field to congratulate him on the victory.

Overall, Low received a lot of criticism and comments because it was an unpleasant situation for him. Low later apologized in front of the public, saying it was an unconscious act.

Driving Problems

When it comes to driving, Joachim has a lot of problems. He has apparently been caught speeding frequently, and in certain cases, he has been given a six-month driving suspension.

But the problems with his driving extend beyond his own country; in Brazil, he was busted for speeding and using a phone while driving.

He had been featured in the news in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup.

Oliver Bierhoff, Low’s manager and buddy, also made light of the idea of asking Mercedes-Benz to lend Low a vehicle that exceeded the speed limit.

Wife & Children

Joachim Low a married guy, wed Daniela, his longtime sweetheart, in 1986.

The couple’s lack of a kid after such a long and happy marriage is what surprises me the most.

Joachim and his wife Daniela also have a sweet love story that is reminiscent of a fairy tale.

They reportedly met when she was 15 and Low was 17.

Low was actually only a German soccer player at the time, and Daniela offered him all of his support.

Additionally, they dated for eight years before deciding to move past their romance.

The two are still important today despite being the focus of several allegations about a tense relationship, his sexuality, and even being linked to extramarital affairs.

Joachim Low is currently 62 years old. Low has had a lean build throughout his playing and managing careers.

The German is still the same as he was in his youth, despite his age. Likewise, he is a standard sportsman’s height of 6 feet (1.84 m).

Unfortunately, there is no information available regarding the former player’s training regimens and food plans.

However, based on what we observe in the current players, we can assume similar plans.

Furthermore, Low continues to exercise even after retiring from playing, and on occasion, he joins the players for a quick warm-up.
