Jen Kirkman is a stand-up comedian, screenwriter, podcaster, and actress. Jen Kirkman rose to prominence as a round-table panelist on Chelsea Lately for 70 episodes between 2008 and 2014. Jen is also known for her appearances on the Funny or Die sketch series Drunk History and its Comedy Central continuation series.

Jen Kirkman was born in the United States on August 28, 1974, in Needham, Massachusetts. Her age is 47 years.

Jen is the third and youngest of three sisters. She is of German, Polish, French-Canadian, and English ancestry and holds American citizenship.

Jen Kirkman attended Emerson College in Boston after graduating from high school, where she majored in acting.

Kirkman’s first book, I Can Barely Take Care of Myself: Tales From a Happy Life Without Kids was released in hardcover on April 16, 2013.

The book made The New York Times Nonfiction Best Seller list. She signed a second book deal with Simon & Schuster in late 2013, following up on her best-selling debut.

In April 2016, the book I Know What I’m Doing and Other Lies I Tell Myself: Dispatches from a Life Under Construction was released.

Jen has also had several essays published, including ones in Rejected: Tales of the Failed, Dumped and Canceled and Bad Sex: We Did It So You Don’t Have To.

In Los Angeles, California, she performs stand-up comedy at the Hollywood Improv, The Laugh Factory, Largo, and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Jen was named one of the “Top 12 Rising Stars in Comedy” by Entertainment Weekly in 2009, and in May 2010, MSN and The Huffington Post named her one of the top comedians to follow on the social networking service Twitter.

AST Records released her debut comedy album, Self Help, in 2006. Her second album, Hail to the Freaks, was recorded live on December 11, 2010, at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

It was released on May 17, 2011, and peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Top Comedy Albums chart.

She narrated two episodes of HBO’s Drunk History, which was produced by Funny or Die. The series won the jury prize for “Best Short Film” at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010.

Despite popular belief, she was inebriated during both episodes. She has appeared as a guest on a number of American talk shows, including Conan, The View, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
