Jamie graduated from Concordia University in 1997 with a master’s degree in journalism and history.

Jamie also works as a social worker

She has worked with The Missing Children’s Network, The Action Centre in Lasalle,

and the Generations Foundation, which provides breakfast and lunch programs for schoolchildren.

Jamie, who worked for The Action Centre and was important in developing the Chair Aware Challenge with CJAD, Global TV,

and The Gazette in 2006, spent the entire day in a wheelchair and experienced the same challenges that Kevin Harrison does every day.

In addition, Jamie and her coworkers raised $50,000 for the facility.

Her two decades of service to the Global Montreal Networks were recently recognized in September 2018.

She formerly worked as an assistant news director at Global Montreal, where she was in charge of the station’s web crew as well as on-air news programs.

Jamie commented to Global News Digital in response to the news of her appointment,

“I am quite thrilled to embark on this new task since it will allow me to broaden my horizons beyond broadcast journalism and management.”

Jamie Orchard, who has presented Focus Montreal,

is not only dedicated to her job but also to her marriage with her husband, Jean-Luc.

Although many specifics of her marriage have not been released,

it is known that she has a family of four; Jamie and her husband share two sons, Luc and Liam, as well as a cat.

Jamie, a mother of two, previously announced on Twitter in 2011 that she is an older mom herself,

having given birth to her second kid at the age of 43.

She revealed in an interview with Montreal Families about her family and

her experience as a mother that her husband reminded her how involved he was in helping her balance her family and work.

Jamie added that laughing with her children makes her the happiest person and that she would love to see acts of compassion from boys.

She believes in generosity and volunteers her time for a variety of charities,

including the Action Foundation, a center for physically and intellectually challenged Montrealers.

Jamie was awarded the Izzy Asper Community Service Award in 2008 for her work as an enthusiastic volunteer at the Action Centre.

Jamie is currently focusing on managing her professional and personal life while loving her roles as a journalist and a mother.
