He is the son of bus drivers Werther Tonioli and Fulvia Tonioli. His mother used to sew car seat coverings for him.

He lived with his paternal grandparents for his first 12 years.

Unfortunately, his mother died of a heart attack at the age of 63. His father was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and died in July 2001 at the age of 70.

Tonioli is a dancer and TV personality in his professional life.
