Ian Bremmer was born on November 12, 1969, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, in the United States of America. Ian has the age of 52.

Ian is the son of Korean War veteran Arthur Bremmer and Maria J. His father died when he was four years old, at the age of 46. He is of Italian, German, and Armenian descent.

Ian Bremmer graduated from St. Dominic Savio High School in East Boston with honors.

Ian went on to Tulane University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and graduated magna cum laude in 1989.

He received a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University in 1994 by writing “The politics of ethnicity: Russians in Ukraine”.

Professional Career

In 2017, Bremmer co-founded GZERO Media with Eurasia Group and US national public television on PBS. He has also written the book Every Nation for Itself, which explains G-Zero.

He founded the Eurasia Group, a political risk research, and consulting firm, in 1998. The group’s headquarters are in New York City.

Later, the firm opened offices in San Francisco and So Paulo in 2016, a London office in 2000, a Washington, DC office in 2005, a Tokyo office in 2015, and Singapore office in 2017.

Furthermore, the group has grown to include frontier and developed economies, as well as established geo-technology and energy practices.

Ian has also contributed to the annual Top Risks report published by Eurasia Group. In addition, in 2016, he established the Eurasia Group Foundation, of which he is the president.

He has written and published ten books on international affairs. Ian also writes a foreign affairs column for Time and is an A-List contributor for the Financial Times.
