Hunter Woodhall’s marriage to Tara Davis is unlike any other. When they were teenagers, they first met and started dating. It was love at first sight for them, and they knew they were going to marry.

Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall’s dating history

The Paralympic and Olympic athletes first met in 2017 at a track meet.

In a YouTube video, the couple detailed the beginning of their romance, and it’s just as charming and adorable — just like a perfect rom-com movie.

They first met at an athletic competition and were instantly attracted to one another.

When they were 16, Woodhall from Utah and Davis from California both attended the Simplot Games in Idaho.

“Damn, that girl is fine,” Woodhall said to his best friend as he watched his current partner race through the hurdles.

“I’m going to marry her.”

Davis, on the other hand, saw Woodhall stretching before his 400-meter event later in the day, and sparks flew.

“I just saw him and was like, ‘Ooh, who’s that?'” she reflected. I just stood there staring at him for a while.”

Davis made sure the spark didn’t die after the race with a hug and a short talk. She slipped into her partner’s Twitter DMs and started flirting.

Social interactions turned into phone numbers, and their relationship took off a few months later.

The couple finally went on their first date in June 2017 after months of long-distance communication and occasional meet-ups.

Davis drove two hours to Woodhall’s training facility in Southern California, where they kissed for the first time.

They’ve been together ever since.

Their dating life, however, was not all rainbows and butterflies.

They had some ups and downs because it was a long-distance relationship, but they overcame them by learning how to communicate.

“We balance our long-distance relationship by having communication, trust, and patience,” Woodhall told Elle.

“We learned how to communicate and operate as a couple over the last four years,” he added.

We have had numerous situations where we have failed on both sides, but we have learned from those mistakes and sincerely want to grow our relationship.”
