Chris Paul’s Height

Several NBA players have gone unnoticed throughout the years because LeBron James has been the best basketball player on the planet. Chris Paul, the eventual Hall of Fame point guard, is one of those players who deserves a lot of credit.

Paul has guided many teams to significant success while also establishing himself as one of the best point guards in NBA history.

What’s most impressive about Paul’s game is that he’s accomplished so much while not being one of the league’s tallest players.

How tall is Chris Paul, and how does his stature compare to that of other NBA players?

Chris Paul, the point guard for the Phoenix Suns, is one of the NBA’s shortest players in terms of height.

Paul is really one of the NBA’s tiniest players, standing only 6 feet tall.

Carsen Edwards, Chris Chiozza, D.J. Augustin, Frank Mason, and Jordan McLaughlin are the only active players who are shorter than him at 5-11.

Tremont Waters, Markus Howard, Jacundo Harper, and Facundo Campazzo all stand at 5-10, while Isaiah Thomas is at 5-9.

Of course, none of these players are as short as former greats like Muggsy Bogues (5-3), or Earl Boykins (5-5).

However, they are still at a disadvantage when facing big players 7 feet or taller, or even some of the league’s taller point guards today.

Here are the heights of some of the NBA’s other outstanding point guards (both short and tall):

  • 6-1 Trae Young
  • 6-2 for Kyrie Irving
  • 6-2 Damian Lillard
  • 6-3 Stephen Curry
  • 6-3 De’Aaron Fox
  • 6-3, Jrue Holiday
  • 6-3 Ja Morant
  • 6-3 Russell Westbrook
  • 6-5 for James Harden
  • 6-7 for Luka Doncic
  • 6-11 Ben Simmons

Chris Paul has not allowed his height to hold him back in the NBA

Despite not being one of the league’s tallest guards, Paul has consistently been one of the league’s most talented players while playing for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Phoenix Suns.

Paul has been one of the best passers in NBA history since entering the league with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft.

He has led the NBA in assists per game four times.

He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2005-06, an 11-time All-Star, and an All-NBA selection ten times.

Paul, on the other hand, isn’t merely a superb attacking player.

He has six times led the NBA in thefts per game and has been named to the All-Defensive Team nine times.

Paul has a career average of 18.3 points and 9.4 assists through the 2020-21 season.

He ranks sixth in league history in career assists (10,275), fourth in lifetime assists-per-game average (9.4), and fifth in steals (2,332).

Is CP3 one of the all-time great point guards?

Paul’s lack of titles during his first 15 seasons in the league may have kept him from being considered one of the greatest point guards of all time, but he surely deserves to be mentioned.

Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, Isiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, Bob Cousy, and Jerry West all have more assists than him.

He has more assists per game in his career than Thomas, Cousy, West, Iverson, Jason Kidd, and Steve Nash combined, and he has more steals than all save Kidd.

Paul has also surpassed John Stockton, Johnson, Kidd, Nash, Cousy, and Thomas in scoring.

Finally, despite his age, Paul outperforms Stephen Curry in all of these categories, and he outperforms Russell Westbrook in steals, assists, and assists per game.

Paul has competed against the finest of the best while standing barely 6 feet tall.

There’s no doubt about it: Paul is one of the NBA’s all-time leading scorers.
