Hilary Barry is a New Zealand television personality and journalist. Hilary Barry co-hosts Seven Sharp on TVNZ 1. She previously worked as a newscaster for TV3’s Paul Henry morning show.

Early Life and Childhood

Hilary Barry was born on December 4, 1969, in New Zealand. Barry’s age is 52.

Furthermore, she and her brother are the great-grandchildren of Dorothy and Jack, who used to take them to Milford Beach on Auckland’s North Shore on warm days.

Her great grandfather, Jack, was also a World War I veteran.

Hilary was the co-host of Newshub on TV3 with Mike McRoberts before joining the station.

She was also the host of the network’s Paul Henry morning TV show. She unexpectedly resigned from TV3 in April 2016 after nearly two and a half decades of service.

Hilary has worked as a radio reporter as well as a television personality since beginning her career at radio station 89.3 TODAY FM.

Following her time at radio 89.3, she became a news anchor for RNZ. She also worked as a news presenter for More FM from 1993 to 2003.

She joined RadioLive in February 2009 as a news anchor for the RadioLIVE breakfast show, where she worked until 2016. Between 2020 and 2021, Hilary co-hosted The Hits at 3 p.m. during her maternity leave.

For the past 23 years, she has worked as a TV3 co-host and reporter. Hilary was the co-host of Newshub with Mike McRoberts during her time on the network.

She hosted the Paul Henry morning TV show while working for TV3. She also became a news anchor for the Paul Henry shows in 2015.

Hilary laughed uncontrollably in February 2016 while reading the news for the show about a former Malaysian diplomat who admitted going to a young woman’s home without pants and excreting on her step before leaving.

Furthermore, the video received widespread coverage, and a video uploaded by Henry to YouTube received 270,000 views in two days.

She has naturally blonde hair and prefers to wear it in a chic pixie cut.

However, Hilary captured the attention of her fans in August 2021 when she swapped her short hair for a fringe wig during a formal Friday that she launched during the lockdown in 2020 by posting a photo of herself wearing a crown and gown while working from home.
