Career at Club


In 2006, he was called up to the Senior team for the first time after an outstanding performance in his age group.

On January 22, he made his first-team debut as a substitute in a match against Santos Laguna.

On February 12, he made his first full appearance in a 2-0 win over Veracruz, and a week later, he scored his first goal against Cruz Azul.

PSV Eindhoven, a Dutch club, signed him for €5 million in August 2015. He scored 11 goals in 61 games for PSV, while playing as a center-back.

He won the Eredivisie and the Johan Cruyff Shield for the second time. He joined Roma in the summer transfer window of 2017 after two years with PSV.

He only played five games for Roma before being moved after barely six months. Real Sociedad in Spain paid him a career-high transfer fee of €6 million.

Hector had a grade 1 injury shortly after joining the club, but returned after only a month.

Moreno enjoyed his time with Real Sociedad, however his contract with the club was canceled in July 2019.

He signed for Qatari Club Al Gharafa, after an eleven-year stint in European leagues, and became the first Mexican player to play in the Qatari division.

As a defensive midfielder, he scored the team’s third goal in a 3-0 triumph over the Gambia. Unfortunately, they were defeated in the quarter-finals by eventual champion Argentina.
