It is a variant of the secretary problem in which the first third of all potential partners should be rejected.
The second book, The Undeniable Existence of Santa Claus (2016), was written in collaboration with fellow mathematician Thomas Oléron Evans.
It discusses a variety of Christmas-related topics and how mathematics can be used to help with them, such as a fair Secret Santa.
Hello World: Being Human in the Age of Algorithms is her third book (2018). The book investigates the impact of algorithms on people’s lives.
