Henderson signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on July 9, 2016. On June 30, 2017, the 76ers dismissed him from his contract after a year.

Due to the injury, Henderson left the NBA and his basketball career came to an end in 2017.

Injuries

In the world of sports, injuries are common. Many players encounter these circumstances when playing in games, in practice, and occasionally off the court.

Henderson’s professional basketball career has also been plagued by injuries.

Henderson has been transparent about his wounds and the medical care he is receiving. According to one news outlet, he had six surgeries between 2008 and 2017 and has a history of numerous courtroom episodes.

The three major surgeries he underwent were on his wrist, hip, and achilles.

It became difficult for him to continue playing basketball as a result of those procedures and other minor problems.

Henderson underwent hip surgery on August 2, 2017, and as a result, he missed the whole 2017–2018 campaign.

It took him a long time to recuperate because of how bad the damage was, and this was his third hip operation.

In the off-season of 2018, Henderson intended to make a comeback. Sadly, he ruptured his Achilles tendon during the warm-up game.

Retirement

He had intended to give playing one last time after the hip operation, but the tendon damage crushed his enthusiasm.

He had made up his mind by the time the injury occurred because the entire surgical and healing procedure was agonizing, both psychologically and physically.

In order to be around the game, Henderson joined the Hornets broadcast team in January 2019.

But following these operations and injuries, he ultimately decided to retire, and on April 30, 2019, he made the announcement.

Henderson opted to leave rather than continue to play through his discomfort and fear.

We should honor his strength and stamina for making such a challenging decision, even if he had to quit at such a young age. He feels that basketball is a portion of his life, not his entire life.

Davis reacted when Carrawell informed the media that he did not shake hands with him before the game.

On Twitter, Seth Greenberg criticized the conduct of the Duke staff. Henderson came out in favor of Chris and claimed that the coach had only returned Davis’ favor.

Wayne Ellington, who previously played for North Carolina, responded to Henderson on Twitter and stated that Duke’s coach would have acted differently if they had won the game.

As there was no proof of Davis’s behavior toward Chris prior to the game, Henderson was unable to provide a rational defense of the situation.
