Who is George Galloway?

George Galloway is a British politician, broadcaster, and author. George Galloway held this position until he was elected MP for Glasgow Hillhead in the 1987 general election. He was expelled from the Labour Party in 2003 for bringing the party into disrepute after urging British troops to defy orders. In 2004, George became a member of the Respect Party.

George Sr., his father, was a Scottish trade unionist. Sheila O’Reilly, George’s mother, was of Irish descent. He began his life in Lochee, Dundee.

His father worked as an electrician before becoming an electro-mechanical engineer at NCR. After being laid off, he retrained as a teacher.

Sheila, on the other hand, worked as a cleaner and then as a factory worker.
