Erin Krakow is well-known for her portrayal of Elizabeth Thornton in Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart. Her fans and followers have been curious about her life since then. Krakow’s fanbase has many questions, ranging from her weight and height to her love life.
Is Erin Krakow afflicted with cancer?
Krakow is not afflicted with cancer. Everything, as far as we know, is a rumor.
She has not disclosed any information about being diagnosed with a disease.
Similarly, Krakow appears to be living a healthy and happy life on social media.
But, where did the rumors come from? We don’t know when or where it started.
It could have been swirling, however, because her co-star, actress Alicia Witt, was diagnosed with cancer.
Alicia Witt’s breast cancer
Witt revealed on Instagram on June 1, 2022, that she had been battling cancer for quite some time.
She shared videos and photos of herself finishing chemotherapy before her scheduled mastectomy.
She described her battle with cancer through captions.
“I had my last round of chemical therapy prior to my mastectomy just a little over 2 months ago,” she wrote.
As I rang the bell, my beloved, brilliant, collaborative, communicative doctor, @habibdoss at @tnoncology, was there to celebrate with us!”
She admitted that they didn’t know whether she was healed or not until she had the mastectomy.
They discovered her left breast was completely healed after she did so.
“This marked the end of my carboplatin/taxotere, plus herceptin/perjeta (the latter two are immunotherapies that will continue, per protocol for HER2+, until the end of this year”),” she wrote.
She thanked her “tiny crew of human angels” for their support during this difficult time. She thanked them for lifting her spirits and assisting her with her hair caps.
Witt admitted that losing hair was “obviously the last of my larger concerns,” but she refused to discuss her diagnosis.
She wanted to keep it private until she was “completely healed,” and her “human angels” assisted her.
“I’m so grateful to everyone along the way during treatment who honored me by protecting my privacy during these months,” she wrote.
She went on to say how grateful she was to “help share that these caps can truly play a huge role in allowing a patient to reveal her journey on her own time when she is ready.”
One of the reasons she kept her cancer diagnosis private was that she was also grieving the loss of her parents.
In December 2021, her mother, Diane, and father, Ross, were discovered dead in their Massachusetts home.
At the time, the actress had only recently begun her treatment. Witt is currently recovering and living her life to the fullest.
She frequently posts photos of herself harvesting vegetables in her garden and spending time with her dog.
