Barrett was released from prison on July 3, 2012, after serving his sentence.

Andrews subsequently filed a lawsuit against the hotel, accusing it of gross negligence and breach of privacy.

Andrews was awarded $55 million by the judges after much struggle.

Barrett, the hotel management business and the owner were all found guilty of the crime.
