Drake and Taylor Swift’s Untold Feud Explained
Drake, a Toronto native, was feeling a little bitter after the updated ranking was published on Monday and subtly conveyed his feelings via Instagram Stories.
The rapper had eight debuts in the most recent Hot 100 top 10, which was dated November 19, 2022, including seven with 21 Savage, whose joint album Her Loss debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero,’ on the other hand, remained at the top for a third week, breaking Drake’s Certified Lover Boy’s previous record for the biggest album debut on Spotify.
“Unholy,” a sensual duet by Sam Smith and Kim Petras, debuted at number ten.
When her album Midnights was released three weeks ago, she became the first artist in history to hold all ten positions at the top of the charts.
Drake’s screenshot left ‘Unholy’ unaltered, but a slew of emoticons overshadowed Swift’s achievement. “@21savage congrats my brother,” he captioned the photo.
When eight of the singles from Her Loss debuted in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, the rapper’s record for the most Hot 100 top ten entries was extended from 59 to 67.
He is the only artist who has had eight top-ten singles from the same album chart twice.
On April 18, the Canadian singer sparked outrage when he shared a throwback photo with Swift on Instagram.
He posted a series of photos, the last of which shows the two together with the caption, “They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work.”
However, the rapper has since deleted the post with Midnights’ artist that he shared on April 18, implying a possible feud between him and Swift.
Prior to this week’s billboard updates, he was seen on Instagram following Swift but has since unfollowed her.
Swift, on the other hand, has yet to address the issue.
