Devin played for the Miami Hurricanes after high school at the University of Miami.

He was later taken by the Chicago Bears in the 2006 NFL Draft and continued his career as a cornerback and then as a return specialist.

On March 20, 2014, he signed with the Atlanta Falcons after his 6-year contract with the Bears expired.

Hester made three Pro Bowl appearances with the Bears in 2006, 2007, and 2010, and his fourth with the Falcons in 2014.

Hester tied the team record for most kickoff return yards in a game with 249 and 81 yards for a touchdown in his final season with the Bears, tying Deion Sanders’ 19th career return score.

However, despite having 235 yards kick return yards and 34 punt return yards while with the Falcons, he did not register a touchdown.

Later, he played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2016 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2017.

However, he announced his retirement from the NFL on December 12, 2017, just after the 2017 season ended.
