Demi Lovato appears to have revealed how the giant media company controlled her personal life. The American actress-singer will appear on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Cooper revealed Lovato’s appearance on the podcast today, August 23, and released a small teaser clip.

Lovato initially discussed how Disney had a say in her personal life when she was a child star in the teaser clip. “Demi Lovato, welcome to Call Her Daddy,” Cooper said first, to which Lovato replied, “Thank you.”

A small intro clip from Lovato’s Disney Channel show was shown,

after which the actress said, “It was the golden era of Disney.

It was like [That’s So Raven] and Hilary Duff from High School Musical,

Selena [Gomez] from [Wizards of Waverly Place] had just happened, and Hanna Montana had just happened.”

She went on to say that she had a feeling her life was about to change.

“What parts of your personal life did Disney have a say in?” Cooper continued.

“Ohhhh, that pressure of you being replaceable was always there,

and I was paying for the roof over my whole family’s head,” Lovato replied,

sighing deeply. I’d even go so far as to say there was a brainwashing component to it.”

“They essentially barricaded me in my hotel room.

They placed furniture outside my door to prevent me from leaving,” she concluded.

During an interview with PopCrush on August 17,

Lovato reflected on her time as a Disney star and offered advice to the current young Disney stars. “At that age, it’s more important to have a personal life than it is to have a career,” she reflected.

“I think that’s what got lost during my time at Disney.

We were all working so hard, running ourselves ragged.”

Following that, she stated that she was too busy being a young Disney star to “appreciate the journey.”

“I didn’t have a lot of fun in my downtime,” Lovato continued.

“I was constantly considering what I needed to do next.”

There was always pressure to “look a certain way,” “be a certain way,” and “act a certain way,” she claimed.

She also asserted that young stars usually don’t get to live their “life as a teenager”

or “experience childhood” without being “under a microscope.”

After that, she began advising the next generation of Disney stars.

“If you want to be a teenager, be a teenager,”

Lovato said. If you want to do this for a living, you should probably wait until you’re older and have more life experience. Take your time.

You don’t have to be at the top of your game. Take advantage of the time you have right now. “Be there.”

Returning to her upcoming appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast,

Lovato also discussed her recent single ’29.’ Cooper began by reciting a line from the song’s lyrics:

“You’re too young to drink wine/

After only five years as a bleeder, student, and teacher/

What the [expletiveconsent, ]’s far from innocent?/

Numbers told you not to, but you didn’t listen.”

“What inspired you to write this song?” the podcast host inquired.

“I have never talked about this before, but if you’re a young girl

and you think it’s sexy and fun to date older men, it’s not okay,” Lovato responded.

On August 17, 2022, the Albuquerque native released her single ’29,’

three days before her 30th birthday on August 20.

Many people speculated after the song’s release that it was about Lovato’s ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

“Finally twenty-nine,” another line of the song’s lyrics said.

Funny, just like you were back then. I thought it was just a teenage fantasy. But, was it yours or mine? “I’m seventeen and twenty-nine.”

Lovato and Valderrama first met at a PSA shoot when the former was 17 and the latter was 29;

they began dating when Lovato was 18. And the lyrics mentioned above are relevant to their age at the time they first met.

As of this writing, Lovato hasn’t confirmed or denied the speculation

that the song is about her former partner. Furthermore, Valderrama has yet to respond to these rumors.
