NFL
Dante Scarnecchia began his career with the Patriots in 1982 as a special teams and tight end coach.
He later collaborated with Meyer again with the Indianapolis Colts.
From 1989 to 1990, he was the offensive line coach for the Indianapolis Colts.
He later returned to the Patriots in 1991.
For two seasons, he was their special teams and offensive line coach, reporting to Dick MacPherson.
Dante served as head coach during MacPherson’s absence due to illness for the final eight games of the season.
