We’ve all heard of someone having seven look-alikes in the world. What are the chances that three of the look-alikes are in the Hollywood industry?
We’re talking about Daniel Radcliffe, Elijah Wood, and Tobey Maguire, all of whom are actors. Fans are confused about their identities because all three have similar features.
Furthermore, all three have appeared in the most popular franchises: Radcliffe as Harry Potter in the Harry Potter franchise, Wood as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, and Maguire as Spider-Man and Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy.
Is it true that Elijah Wood, Daniel Radcliffe, and Tobey Maguire all look the same, or is it just that they all starred in movies aimed at a similar demographic at the same time in the early 2000s?
Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood have a striking resemblance
The Miracle Workers star did a Wired autocomplete interview on September 8, 2021.
He responded to a question about playing himself in BoJack Horseman there.
He then mentioned that the episode ended with a joke about Wood voice-acting for him.
Then he responded to another question, “Who looks like Daniel Radcliffe?” — “a perfect segue,” he said, implying he resembled Wood.
“The idea of me and Elijah Wood is the same,” Radcliffe said. He also stated that they do not appear to be identical.
If all of their individual characteristics were combined, they would be described as short, pale, blue-eyed, big-eyed, and brown-haired.
Although Radcliffe denies that he and Wood resemble one another, he is not opposed to working with Wood.
He expressed his desire to appear in a film alongside his co-star.
“At this point, it feels like it would have to be something that is consciously using the way the world sees us as linked and similar looking,” he continued. “I’m open to pitches.”
In addition, Radcliffe revealed to Loaded in September 2016 that a makeup artist on the Imperium mistook him for Wood.
At the time, he expressed gratitude for being mistaken for Wood, adding, “I’ve met him; he’s a lovely chap.”
In several interviews, Wood has mentioned his resemblance to Radcliffe.
Wood claimed in a 2016 interview with Conan that the similarities began to emerge around the time that the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films were released.
Despite his initial belief that the joke would fizzle out, the actor claimed that it had “long legs, and it just keeps going.”
Similarly, he addressed the resemblance in the Wired autocompletes interview in February 2020.
He met Radcliffe while both were working on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Wood was working on ADR for the Lord of the Rings film at the time.
“I certainly get asked a lot if I’m him, which I find really amusing and it doesn’t bother me at all, seriously,” he said.

Tobey Maguire and Elijah Wood
While Maguire’s resemblance is not as well-known as Wood’s and Radcliffe’s, many people confuse the actors.
For example, in 2015, Wood told Chatty Man (via Oxford Mail) that he was embarrassed to admit he wasn’t Maguire.
When he was at Costo, a woman approached him and said, “I saw you on the Jay Leno Show last night.” It was fantastic.”
Wood assumed he wasn’t on the show, but perhaps a rerun was on.
Regardless, he thanked the woman, who responded, “Yeah, I’m a vegan too, and it’s always a little difficult during the Thanksgiving holiday.”
That’s when Wood realized the woman had misidentified him as Maguire.
“So then I was in that place where we’d already gone down the rabbit hole of conversation where I’d sort of said ‘yeah’ and I didn’t want to embarrass her, so she’s like, ‘Oh my god, I’ve totally mistaken this person,” he continued.
Wood didn’t want to correct her, so he went along with whatever she said. Finally, he said, “see you later,” and walked away.
