Later, he was selected with the 27th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins.

As a result, he established himself as the top player on the Miami Dolphins. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League.

That team did not sign him. He chose the Miami Dolphins at the time.

Marino threw for 20 touchdowns and led the squad to a 12-4 record in his rookie season. He was the first rookie to start at quarterback in the Pro Bowl on this occasion. In addition, he is renowned as the ‘NFL Rookie of the Year.’

In 1993, he was the captain of his team in a game against the New York Jets. He passed for 4,453 yards in this game. He’s also been voted Comeback Player of the Year in the NFL.

Injuries

Marino suffered from an Achilles injury in the October of 1993. It was a torn Achilles tendon.
