Early Life and Childhood

Connie Walker was born in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1979. Connie’s age is 43.

Professional Career

Since February 2021, Walker has been the host of the Stolen: The Search for Jermain podcast series for Gimlet Media.

The podcast looks into the disappearance of Jermain Charlo, an indigenous woman from Montana’s Flathead Indian Reservation.

Jarmain was last seen at Sacajawea Park and The Badlander bar before going missing. Furthermore, Jarmain gave birth to her son Thomas at the age of 19.

Connie worked as an investigative reporter for CBC before joining Gimlet.

Following her graduation, Connie accepted a permanent position with the CBC as the host of Living Saskatchewan. She has also worked as a producer and reporter for CBC News: Sunday and The National.

In the fall of 2009, while working for CBC, she also became a correspondent for Connect with Mark Kelley.

She was also a member of the team that worked on the acclaimed 8th Fire documentary about contemporary Indigenous life in 2013. Connie was also named the CBC’s Indigenous reporting unit’s lead reporter.

Connie provided a 14-minute program titled “Connie and the Firsthand Legacy of Residential Schools” during her time at CBC in December 2015.

She described the horrors of residential schools through her family’s experience and reported on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in the program.

Furthermore, the final residential school was near her home in the Okanese First Nation.

She went on to explain how she discovered her mother and grandparents were survivors of the residential school system.

Through the Missing and Murdered podcast, Connie investigated the murder of Alberta Williams and the life and death of Cleopatra Nicotine Semaganis while working for CBC.
