Early Career

Chris began playing basketball while he was a student at Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio.

He was a well-liked basketball player at the school, where he set 14 school records and won the Columbus Dispatch Player of the Year honor in 2002.

In addition, he received votes for the first team all-state twice and finished second to NBA superstar LeBron James in the Ohio Mr. Basketball contest when he was a senior.

Quinn led his team to back-to-back conference championships as well as two straight district championships. He was also named the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year.

Chris was a three-year starter and two-time co-captain at the University of Notre Dame after an outstanding high school career.

Quinn averaged 14.6 points per game, 3.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.27 steals throughout the course of his college career.

Quinn as a result was selected a Big East Academic All-Star as a freshman and First Team All-Big East as a senior.

Professional Career

Chris registered for the 2006 NBA draft, but he was not selected. Chris’s NBA dream was severely damaged by being undrafted.

Chris persisted in his pursuit of the NBA, though, and he roamed the league in search of teams willing to offer him a contract.

Quinn eventually agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with the Miami Heat and participated in the Orlando Summer League for the team.

He played for the team little in his debut season. Quinn, however, got more playing time later, after a few squad members retired.

With more playing time, he had more opportunities to shine. On December 13, he scored a season-high 22 points against the Washington Wizards, making six three-point field goals.

Quinn established new records during his career and soon established himself as a vital team member.

But on January 5, 2010, Quinn was exchanged for a conditional second-round pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets.

Quinn later attended training camp with the Philadelphia 76ers but was let go. Then he was acquired by the San Antonio Spurs.

Chris joined Khimki Moscow Region of the VTB United League on July 21, 2011, and Valencia of the Spanish League a year later.

On March 20, 2013, Quinn was subsequently signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the balance of the 2012–13 NBA season.

He then announced his resignation from the NBA and started a new career as a coach.

Career as a Coach

Chris was appointed as the team’s new director of player development on October 28, 2013, by Northwestern University head coach Chris Collins.

Quinn was later hired by the Miami Heat as an assistant coach on September 17, 2014.

Erik Spoelstra, the Miami Heat’s head coach, was temporarily replaced by Chris on March 26, 2022, and he assumed control of the team.

He asserted that he would coach in the same way as Spoelstra and that he would adhere to the framework and culture he had established.

Spoelstra went through team health and safety procedures on April 3, 2022. During Kyle Lowry’s debut contest against his former team, the Toronto Raptors, Quinn once more served as the Heat’s interim head coach.

It was both Quinn’s first triumph as head coach and the first time a game was won by a stand-in head coach when Spoelstra wasn’t available.

Chris has spent nine years as the Miami Heats’ assistant coach.

Husband and kids

Lauren Quinn is Chris Quinn’s wife. Three children were born into the family.

It is known that the couple was married in the late 2000s, yet nothing is known about how and when these two romantics originally met.

Charlie, the Quinns’ first child, was born in 2012. They had Lydia, their second child, and first girl, two years later.

Colette, the couple’s third child, was born in September of 2017.
