He was named the PCL’s Most Valuable Player after hitting.330 with 12 home runs, 31 doubles, 81 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases (MVP).

Major League Days

After the big league rosters were extended, the Diamondbacks nominated Owings’ agreement from Reno on September 3, 2013.

That day, he made his major league debut, squeezing a hit in the fifth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays and being stranded out to the second baseman.

Owings competed with Didi Gregorius, the Diamondbacks’ starting shortstop during the previous period, for the preparation shortstop position during the spring practice.

For Opening Day, the star baseball player was named the Diamondbacks’ starting shortstop.

Chris led all National League rookies in batting average in April, earning him the title of “National League Rookie of the Month.”

Owings batted.261 with six home runs and 26 RBIs in 91 games with the Diamondbacks this season.

Despite only appearing in 119 games, he led the major leagues in triples with 11 in 2016.

Following that year, Chris blasted a game-winning postseason home run ahead of Mark Melancon against the San Francisco Giants. It gave the Diamondbacks a 6–5 victory.

He appeared in 97 games that season, batting.268 with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs.

Owings appeared in 106 games for Arizona in 2018. He hit four home runs and drove in 22 runs while hitting.206, which is a fantastic mark.

The Diamondbacks terminated his contract on November 30, 2018, and he became a free agent.

Injuries and Accidents

Chris appeared in 580 games for the Diamondbacks during six significant league campaigns, batting.250 with 31 home runs and 196 RBIs.

In June, this renowned player suffered from left shoulder soreness during that time. Later, he underwent shoulder surgery to repair the posterior labrum.

Minor League Achievements

Chris signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Kansas City Royals.

He fluttered in 40 tournaments with the Royals. In 135 at-bats, he batted 133 times, with two home runs and nine RBIs.

Previously, in May, he was chastised for monitoring a position player, Houston Astros’ Tyler White. During a 16–1 loss to the Texas Rangers, Chris pitched for the first time in MLB.

In May, the organization assigned Owings a mission. He’d logged a golden sombrero the day before, striking out four times in a game.

He moved to the Boston Red Sox since he didn’t want to stay in the Royals.

Owings was subsequently assigned to the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox after signing a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox.

The entire situation was clearly moving in his favor. Owings was added to Boston’s active roster. In contrast to the Los Angeles Angels, he spent most of his time with the Red Sox.

With the 2019 Red Sox, Owings appeared in 26 playoff games, batting.156 with one home run and five RBIs.

Instead of allowing Chris to be assigned to Triple-A, the organization nominated him to become a free agent. After becoming a free agent, Owings signed a minor league agreement with the Colorado Rockies.

The Rockies started in July that Owings’ contract would be designated to the 40-man roster before Inauguration Day.

But that was not the case. His agreement was instead nominated the next day.

Mallet damage

On July 20, 2021, Chris was placed on the disabled list with a mallet finger injury to his left thumb.

In addition, he had surgery for it three days later.

He was out for the rest of the 2021 season after surgery. On August 5, he was officially released by the Rockies.
