What Happened To Chip Hailstone? Chip’s Legal Troubles
Chip was sentenced to 15 months behind bars amid vital hunting season after claiming guilty of two charges of perjury and providing false statements to police investigators.
In July 2011, Hailstone falsely accused Alaska State Trooper, Christopher Bitz.
He said that Trooper physically abused his then-17-year-old daughter Tinmaiq.
He further sought to file a criminal prosecution against the officer.
It all occurred when many local residents got embroiled in an altercation with various weapons.
The group of persons also included Hailstone’s daughter, Tinmiaq Hailstone, and stepson Jonathon Carter.
Following the confrontation, several of them were detained including Carter with a charge of slashing a person with a knife as well as Jack Wells who had pointed a firearm at Chip’s daughter Tinmiaq.
However, because of the absence of witnesses, the court ordered Chip to serve 15 months in jail in 2017.
