Charles Stanley is a well-known American pastor, televangelist, theologian, and author. Charles Stanley is currently the founder and president of In Touch Ministries, which broadcasts his sermons on television. After 51 years as senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, he is now Pastor Emeritus.
Early Life and Childhood
Charles Stanley was born in the United States on September 25, 1932, in Dry Fork, Virginia. He has reached the age of 89. Every year on September 25th, Charles celebrates his birthday.
Charles’ father, who was also named Charles, died nine months later. He grew up on the outskirts of Danville in rural Dry Fork.
Charles became a Christian at the age of 12 and began his life’s work in Christian ministry at the age of 14.

Charles Stanley graduated from the University of Richmond with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Charles also holds a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry from Florida’s Luther Rice Seminary (now based in Lithonia, Georgia).

In Touch Ministries was founded in 1977 with the mission of leading people worldwide into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and strengthening the local church.
In Touch first aired on the Christian Broadcasting Network in 1978. This has since been translated into 50 different languages.
In Touch is broadcast on approximately 500 radio stations, 300 television stations, and numerous satellite networks throughout the United States, including The Inspiration Network (INSP) and Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Charles’ sermons, as well as other audio and video programming, can be found on the In Touch website. In Touch magazine is also published by this ministry.
To spread the Gospel as quickly as possible, In Touch employs tools such as radio, television, magazines, and digital media. Charles got the name In Touch from a Living Bible he had.
