On March 25, 2020, a year after their engagement, Bindi married her longtime boyfriend, Chandler.
Unlike other celebrity weddings, the couple managed to have a private candlelit ceremony.
Given the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic, only immediate family members attended the ceremony.
Their wedding was held in the gardens of Australia Zoo in Queensland,
which their grandparents had owned since the 1970s and which is now operated by the Irwin family.
Following her wedding, Bindi turned to Instagram to post a snapshot of the event. She stated in the caption,
I married my best buddy in a simple ceremony.
There are no words to express how much love and light I feel right now.
We had planned this gorgeous day for nearly a year and
had to rearrange everything because we didn’t have visitors.
In reality, their wedding was originally slated for April 4 but was pushed
back to March 25 due to the government’s decision to limit weddings to 5 guests per ceremony,
which went into effect on March 26.
Her mother shared a sweet photo of Bindi as a young girl dressed as a bride.
Terri Irwin, Bindi’s mother, took to Twitter following her marriage to share
a cute snapshot of Bindi as a little girl in a bridal costume.
She seemed to be overjoyed to see her daughter as a bride.
In addition, the proud mother remembered her husband, Steve Irwin, on the historic occasion.
She even tweeted a picture of Steve and their daughter.

Powell’s March 30 post displayed not only his gorgeous wife
but also her diamond wedding ring on her ring finger.
In the photograph, Irwin, 21, is cradling a Koala.
While the couple has not disclosed the cost of the wedding ring,
sources estimate it to be worth roughly $25,000.
Her brother, Robert, led them down the aisle. The Pathway
Bindi’s wedding was obviously a momentous occasion for her,
but it appears that her brother was equally delighted with his sister’s wedding.
Robert expressed his joy on Twitter when Bindi revealed her nuptials.

In an interview with USA Today, the couple stated that they spent
their honeymoon cleaning up after the animals at her family zoo.
“It’s not the most romantic honeymoon in history,” Bindi said to the newspaper.
Meanwhile, Chandler, her husband, added,
“This is most likely the busiest honeymoon in history, as well as the strangest honeymoon ever.”
Bindi and Powell’s Romance: How Did They Meet?
Bindi and Chandler had been in a relationship for seven years.
The duo first met at Australia Zoo, which is owned by the Irwin family,
in 2013, when Bindi was on a tour of the visitors.
Chandler is said to have visited Australia for his national wakeboarding tournament.
Chandler described their initial encounter in an interview with People, saying,
“It just so happened that Bindi was giving tours that day, and I thought, ‘Wow, she’s wonderful.'”
Bindi and Powell even took a snapshot at their initial meeting, which she later posted on Instagram.
After their first meeting, the two maintained in touch via phone calls and texts and quickly became good friends.
In fact, she cited Chandler as her biggest fan during her Dancing with the Stars days in Los Angeles.
