Who is Jane Pauley?

Jane Pauley, an American television journalist, had a successful television career. Known primarily for anchoring CBS Sunday Morning, her path was rewarding in every way, whether it was becoming a role model for many or living the life of a millionaire.

The Indiana native is best known for hosting NBC’s The Today Show for more than a decade.

She later rose to prominence as the host of CBS News’ Sunday morning show, CBS Sunday Morning.

Her first job in the media was as a reporter for CBS station WISH-TV in Indianapolis.

Jane Pauley began her career with NBC in 1975.

Jane left her employment after three years to co-anchor a major evening newscast in Chicago for NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV.

She began working as a correspondent for NBC’s Today in 1976.

She was even a writer for NBC News for a while.

However, after 27 years in broadcasting, Jane announced her departure from NBC in June 2003.

After a few months, she persuaded the network and signed a contract to host her daytime talk program, which debuted in 2004.

However, due to low viewership, the show was not a success.

In addition to her appearances on TV shows, Jane is the author of the 2004 book Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue, in which she discussed her battle with bipolar disorder.

Aside from her struggle with the disease, Jane returned to the Today show in 2009 to participate in the weekly segment Your Life Calling.

Jane’s career had taken a turn for the worse after she filled in as a guest anchor on CBS This Morning and The Evening News in 2014.

Jane took over as host after Charles Osgood retired later that year.

CBS Sunday Morning was originally presented by Charles Kuralt, the show’s creator in 1979, and was later hosted by Charles Osgood.

Osgood helmed CBS Sunday Morning for over 22 years before handing the reins to Jane.

Since then, the NBC veteran has remained as the lead host of CBS Sunday Morning, preserving the show’s legacy but making a few changes to give it a modern twist.
