Professional Career

Chapell’s magnum opus is Christ-Centered Preaching: Redeeming the Expository Sermon. It was named Book of the Year by Preaching magazine in 1994.

In it, he explains his concept of the “Fallen Condition Focus” (FCF): “the mutual human condition that contemporary believers share.

Bryan’s approach is to raise the FCF in the sermon’s introduction, and then respond to it in the body of the sermon by explaining its redemptive purpose.

According to Zack Eswine, the FCF “helpfully urges preachers to account for Christians in a fallen world,” but it is “primarily equipped as a tool for churched contexts.”

Bryan published his book Why Do We Baptize Infants in 2006. He explains the biblical basis for infant baptism.

First, he presents the biblical support for infant baptism, as he has done in previous new member and church officer training classes.

Brian also assists pastors in better understanding how to administer the sacrament in meaningful and helpful ways for their churches.

Bryan and Grace Presbyterian Church members established Unlimited Grace Media in 2015, an independent non-profit media ministry dedicated to spreading the gospel of God’s grace to all people.
