In an interview with Reality Life with Kate Casey, Stanaland explained what happened from his perspective.
He admitted that Cardona had attempted to make out with him several times.
He confesses to downplaying the controversy and ignoring it out of respect for her.

on what they were supposed to be doing. Because of Cardona’s actions,
he had to set some boundaries and reconsider the social atmosphere a little.
“It was just…something you don’t do to a married person,” he explained.
On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, Stanaland discussed the incident
and its impact on his marriage with Snow on the Behind The Velvet Rope podcast.
He admitted that he expected the kiss to be a part of the plot, but not as much as it became.
He explained that this was another reason he kept trying to squash it during production.
Stanaland was adamant that this item not stand alone when it might have been addressed promptly.
In response to the scandal, Snow stated that trust was what made his relationship with his wife special.
He emphasized the need for trust in their relationship,
especially in the eyes of the public. And it appears that Snow and Stanaland had planned for this.
Despite being on the hot seat in the new reality show, the Pitch Perfect actress and her husband,
who have been married since 2020, will always support each other’s professional
and personal decisions — even if it means putting themselves on television.
“I think it was something that when we initially got together, we both stated
whatever is best for our professions, we will always support,” he explained.
Despite Stanaland’s assurances that their love would survive the turmoil, rumors indicate otherwise.
